Devotional

Individual members of the Church are encouraged to study the scriptures everyday. If taking in food is necessary for our physical well-being, so is feeding our spirits. Our understanding of the Lord’s divinity and his Plan of Salvation will be more profound as we seek answers through the Holy Scriptures. Spiritual growth comes by studying His words.

According to Elder Bruce R. McConkie: “Each person must learn the doctrines of the gospel for himself. No one else can do it for him. Each person stands alone where gospel scholarship is concerned; each has access to the same scriptures and is entitled to the guidance of the same Holy Ghost; each must pay the price set by a divine Providence if he is to gain the pearl of great price” (Doctrines of the Restoration: Sermons and Writings of Bruce R. McConkie, ed. Mark L. McConkie [1989], 234).

I hope to fill this page with my scripture passages from the Book of Mormon that I find really uplifting as i read the Book of Mormon everyday.
